I wanted to create a book for young children that would encourage their desire to notice the insects around them. I want to teach them interesting facts about insects while also giving them an appreciation of art. I whimsically wrote this book to be enjoyable to both the reader and the child. This book should be read to the child, but the illustrations would also be compelling enough for the young child to spend hours gazing at the simple yet accurate images of familiar insects in a larger-than-life format.

This picture book describes a young boy struggling with feeling his feelings. A little guru shows up to teach the boy ways to cope with feeling some challenging emotions. Included are a grounding technique for anxiety, several opportunities for using the breath to cope, and distraction activities for when your child feels overwhelmed by the intensity of an emotion. 

This book is especially written for parents, grandparents and teachers to read aloud to their sensitive child- although, I’m sure all children will love it . The goal of this book is to teach you and your sensitive child a coping mechanism to use when your child begins to become overwhelmed.

the other, gradually turned into true friendship. Friends, that depend
on each other as they face robbers, bullies, suspicious steamboat
captains, bounty hunters, slave owner, arsonists, and last of all
sweet young ladies.
